Parameters Panel

View and edit properties of selected items

Parameters Panel

The Parameters panel shows editable properties for whatever is currently selected.

Context-Sensitive Display

The panel content changes based on selection:

  • Node selected - Node parameters
  • Fixture selected - Fixture properties
  • Layer selected - Layer settings
  • Nothing selected - Project settings

Node Parameters

When a node is selected, you see:

Input Values

Parameters that can be set or connected:

  • Number inputs - Slider or numeric field
  • Color inputs - Color picker
  • Dropdown inputs - Selection menu
  • Toggle inputs - Checkbox

Port Visibility

Small circles indicate which parameters have connections:

  • Filled circle - Connected
  • Empty circle - Using default value

Editing Values

  • Drag sliders to adjust
  • Click the number to type precisely
  • Right-click for additional options
  • Double-click to reset to default

Fixture Parameters

When a fixture is selected:

Identity

  • Name - Display name
  • Type - Fixture model
  • Mode - DMX mode

DMX Settings

  • Universe - Which universe (1-based)
  • Address - Starting channel (1-512)
  • Channels - Number of channels used

Position

  • X, Y, Z - Location in 3D space
  • Rotation - Orientation

Test

  • Locate - Flash the fixture
  • Channel values - Manual control

Layer Parameters

When a layer is selected:

Basic

  • Name - Layer name
  • Enabled - Show/hide layer

Timing

  • Start - Start beat
  • Duration - Length in beats
  • Fade In/Out - Transition times

Blending

  • Blend Mode - How it mixes with layers below
  • Opacity - Overall transparency

Multi-Selection

When multiple items are selected:

  • Common properties are shown
  • Editing affects all selected items
  • Mixed values show as "—"

Parameter Animation

Some parameters can be animated:

  1. Right-click a parameter
  2. Select Add Animation
  3. Keyframes appear in the Timeline
  4. Edit the animation curve

Parameter Linking

Link parameters to external sources:

MIDI Mapping

  1. Right-click a parameter
  2. Select Map to MIDI
  3. Move a MIDI control to assign

Expression

  1. Right-click a parameter
  2. Select Add Expression
  3. Enter a mathematical expression
