What is a Fixture?
A fixture in Spectralite represents a physical lighting device. Each fixture has:
- Identity - Name, type, manufacturer
- Channels - DMX parameters it responds to
- Address - Where it lives in the DMX universe
- Position - Location in your 3D space (for visualization)
Fixture Types
LED Fixtures
- LED Pars - Wash lights with color mixing
- LED Bars - Linear wash fixtures
- LED Panels - Flat wash fixtures
Intelligent Fixtures
- Moving Heads - Motorized position with color/gobo
- Scanners - Mirror-based movement
- Hybrid - Combined spot/wash/beam
Pixel Fixtures
- LED Strips - Individually addressable pixels
- LED Matrices - 2D pixel arrays
- LED Tape - Flexible pixel strips
Effect Fixtures
- Lasers - Laser effect projectors
- Strobes - High-intensity flash units
- Hazers/Foggers - Atmospheric effects
Fixture Library
Spectralite includes definitions for thousands of fixtures. Access via:
- Window > Library Manager > Fixtures
- Search by manufacturer or model
- Browse by category
Quick Start
- Open the Library Manager
- Find your fixture type
- Add it to your project
- Set its DMX address
- Start controlling it
