Project Fixtures Panel

Manage fixtures in your current project

Project Fixtures Panel

The Project Fixtures panel shows all fixtures in your current project and provides tools for managing them.

Fixture List

Display

Fixtures are listed with:

  • Name - Fixture identifier
  • Type - Fixture model
  • Address - Universe.Channel
  • Status - Connection indicator

Sorting

Click column headers to sort by:

  • Name (alphabetical)
  • Type
  • Address (numeric)

Filtering

Use the search box to filter fixtures by name or type.

Adding Fixtures

From Library

  1. Click the + button
  2. Browse or search the Library Manager
  3. Select fixtures to add
  4. Set quantity if adding multiple

Quick Add

Drag fixtures from the Library Manager directly into this panel.

Selecting Fixtures

  • Click a fixture to select it
  • Shift + Click to select a range
  • Cmd + Click to toggle selection
  • Cmd + A to select all

Selected fixtures are highlighted in the Preview panel.

Editing Fixtures

Rename

Double-click the name to edit, or select and press Enter.

Change Address

  1. Select fixture(s)
  2. In the Parameters panel, edit Universe and Address
  3. Or right-click and select Repatch

Change Mode

  1. Select fixture
  2. In Parameters, choose a different DMX mode
  3. Address requirements may change

Fixture Groups

Creating Groups

  1. Select fixtures to group
  2. Right-click, select Create Group
  3. Name the group
  4. Groups appear in the list with a folder icon

Managing Groups

  • Expand/Collapse - Click the arrow
  • Rename - Double-click the name
  • Add fixtures - Drag into the group
  • Remove fixtures - Drag out of the group

Using Groups

Groups can be:

  • Selected as a unit
  • Targeted by layer filters
  • Used in MIDI mappings

Context Menu

Right-click fixtures for options:

  • Locate - Flash the fixture
  • Duplicate - Create a copy
  • Delete - Remove from project
  • Create Group - Group selection
  • Auto Patch - Assign addresses automatically
  • Export - Save fixture definition

Multi-Selection Actions

With multiple fixtures selected:

  • Auto Patch - Sequential addressing
  • Position - Arrange in patterns (line, circle, grid)
  • Group - Create a group
  • Delete - Remove all selected

Status Indicators

  • Green - Receiving data, connected
  • Yellow - Patched but not outputting
  • Red - Address conflict
  • Gray - Disabled

Import/Export

Import Fixtures

Import fixture definitions:

  1. File > Import Fixtures
  2. Select .slf file(s)
  3. Fixtures are added to project

Export Fixtures

Export for sharing:

  1. Select fixtures
  2. Right-click, select Export
  3. Save as .slf file
