Explore the Interface
Spectralite organizes panels into workspaces, preset layouts for different tasks.
Workspaces
Switch workspaces using the toolbar buttons at the top of the screen.
| Workspace | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Live View | Build your show. Timeline, Preview, and layer controls. |
| Fixtures | Add and configure lighting fixtures. |
| Position Maps | Arrange fixtures in 2D/3D space for effects to render onto. |
| Effects | Create custom effects in the Node Editor (advanced). |
The + button next to the workspace tabs adds another workspace from the same presets or an Empty one.
MIDI controller mapping is configured in the MIDI Input dialog, opened from Edit > Inputs > MIDI. DMX input mappings live in Edit > Inputs > DMX (Art-Net / sACN). See MIDI Input Dialog and DMX Input Dialog.
Key panels
Preview displays a real-time visualization of your lighting output.
Timeline stacks effect layers, controls timing, and adjusts opacity. Positions are measured in beats, not seconds.
Parameters is manual control of fixture channels: dimmer, pan/tilt speed, gobos, color wheels, and other DMX parameters.
Fixtures lists every fixture in the current project.
Beat Matcher sets BPM so effects sync to music. It includes Tap Tempo and Cue Align for aligning to a live track.
