Understanding Nodes
Nodes are the building blocks of your lighting effects. Each node performs a specific function and can be connected to other nodes to create complex behaviors.
Types of Nodes
-
Generator Nodes: Create values and patterns
- Sine Wave
- Random
- Chase
- Color Picker
-
Modifier Nodes: Transform and modify values
- Math Operations
- Remap
- Delay
- Filter
-
Output Nodes: Send values to fixtures
- DMX Output
- Fixture Control
- Master Dimmer
Creating Connections
Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident.
To connect nodes:
- Click on an output port (right side of a node)
- Drag to an input port (left side of another node)
- Release to create the connection
Example: Creating a Chase Effect
Here's how to create a simple chase effect:
Generator (Chase) → Color Mixer → Fixture Output- Add a Chase Generator node
- Configure the speed and number of steps
- Connect to a Color Mixer node
- Route the output to your fixtures
Best Practices
- Keep your node graphs organized with grouping
- Use comments to document complex sections
- Save frequently to preserve your work
